The Jackson County Historical Society, 816-461-1897. The JCHS has large archives and will research the history of Jackson county homes for a nominal fee. The Society also gives local presentations on how to research the history of your home.

A former preservation architect for the Kansas City Landmarks Commission, owner Paul Helmer has given over 1200 consultations and has appeared on PBS and "If Walls Could Talk". His beautiful multi-colored exteriors can be seen on homes and churches in Hyde Park, Coleman Highlands, Ward Parkway, Mission Hills and other cities in the metropolitan area.
